They’ve been around for over 2 months here, only had 2 small patches containing less than 10 maggots on both cases mind. Thorough Daily checking of all ewes and lambs the past 2 weeks.

Clipped mine today- another foot struck and one ewe. Took the fleece off and the board was alive with wrigglers, bizarre sight was the ewes in the pen (we shear in the pen set up on a prattley) nailed just about every one. Almost sheep maggot hatred,

Clipped hoggs this week, few just starting. Only one struck bad, hens have had a field day clearing up in the clipping shed:LOL::LOL:

My hoggs were done a week ago, excellent shearing considering where they've been all winter (on a wind farm). Did my mates hoggs start of week, they needed another week - decent shearing but still dry!

Did a neighbours lowland ewes, hell of a fettle and good shearing. No sign of any maggots until today doing my lowland ewes. 109 shorn - 2 had been struck in the past week - 6 found struck  they were not great shearing but, hell, I am glad they are done!!

How dip they clip ok or were they a bit sticky still?

Went well, spent most of the week going from site to site and not really come across anything that hasn't been ready. Stickiest were some Lleyn crosses but even they weren't that bad. As @Nithsdale Farmer says, it's a great feeling know they're done and it's no longer the first thing you look for on the daily checks.

I shorn mine first week in may, but had 3 really bad struck yesterday!!
I thought they would be ok for a week or so, but once again I was wrong.:( so todays job before I go and shear someone else's is to crovect 1100 theaves.
