Does it ever occur to the hardline Brexiteers that there is no credible alternative to the deal brokered by Mrs May, other than calling off Brexit entirely?

Isn't it time to get behind this deal, however much of a compromise it is, in order to avert chaos and damage of unknown proportions?

Isn't it time to ditch the conservative student union extreme nationalists like JRM?

Isn't it time to grow up and act in the national interest?

I write as ex UKIP who would actually now rather stay in the EU, having seen the pathetic posturing, political games and self interest exhibited by these home grown clowns.

The nation faces a crisis, yet people play politics, including the Labour Party who are utterly useless. The only one ps talking sense are Ken Clarke and Tony Blair, along with a bunch of ex prime ministers. NIcola Sturgeon and the Irish Primeminister even sound reasonable.

The British empire is over. Britian's glory days whatever they were are over. Get used to it. Let's stop arguing and get back to work.

So true. But people are too stubborn and proud to turn back.

it seems an impossible feat to get an agreement the ireland situation alone cant be solved , out of EU brexiteers happy Eire and NI parliaments not, but there has to be a border between EU and us if we are out of it GFA wont allow for a border !!! no one wants to return to violence but is automated number plate recognition such a big deal ?l, the same tech exists to check tax discs and even car parking on lamppost around the country.
So we Stay half attached to EU --- border problem solved brexiteers not happy , but where we ever going to get and end of legislation, end of immigration etc No Even if we could who will make beds in hotels , work picking agg products etc etc.

So as said above at this time maybe a reality check is in order especially from our elected representatives who are now more bothered about positioning themselves for the next parliament than dealing with the hear and now , we should not be surprised

Shame you never stood for parliament under the UKIP banner.
You'd of walked it.

It’s seems (possibly naively) that Gove and Fox did just that yesterday. 1922 doesn’t even have the 48 letters, the likes of JRM and Johnston are loosing credibility. (The little they had). It does just seem possible that the steadfastness of TM will get this through Parliament. Maybe a master stroke of hers on Thursday evening, the three options?

JRM pulling the trigger announcing that he was submitting his letter of no confidence to the 1922 committee tells us that judgement day has arrived. JRM has launched his cruise missile - fire and forget, no recall.

Presumably there will be more letters when MPs spend the weekend chatting with their local party associations while Whips try to persuade MPs no to put in letters or withdraw letters?

No doubt we shall see after weekend. Previous episodes of this serial melodrama were pretty tame but we are now getting to a more thrilling episode. Make sure you have been to the loo and got a couple of beers in ready for the screening.

JRM has sent the signal to constituency parties - so all to play for.

Yes, maybe it needs getting out the way so TM doesn't have to continue wasting time answering stupid questions?

Probably a fair interpretation. This next week maybe see if JRMs cruise missile is on target or drops short. Like all deterrents it has weight while sat in the silo - once its launched then it may or may not work. John Foster Dulles would be proud.
