The new Nissan Navarra for 2021

I’m glad I’ve bought a new Amarok today reading this thread.
I’m also hoping to get the option to buy my current one once the lease finishes in a couple of months, if anybody is interested? 18 plate highline 3.0 v6, auto, tow bar load liner, metallic grey, 35k miles.

Doesn’t surprise me as virtually every model they have released has had a fatal flaw and you cant go on shafting your customers indefinitely. D22 popped engines for fun, Nissan denied all blame until embarrassed on Watchdog nationally but most buyers were left with a worthless pickup even if the engine didn’t blow because of its reputation. The d40 had chassis snapping problems again although they stepped up to their responsibilities better that time, their reputation was severely damaged. A lot of people wouldn’t go near them and theor residuals are the poorest of the sector because of this.
Many people who had a navara liked them, I have one and a Toyota invincible and the navara engine leaves it for dead.

I had a naff-arra for a month and then sold it because it was absolutely abysmal. I then got a barbarian. Kept the barbarian but also treated myself to a raptor last year.

The raptor has spent more time at the dealership getting repairs than it has with me. (Its in dealership now).

Me and my barbarian however have a sub / dom relationship. I kick it in the balls and it says thank you and begs me for more! 😌

Farmers will then buy Panel Vans, like their european farming cousins

VW T6 4motion anyone?
4motion is a pretty poor 4wd system from what I've seen/heard Was pushing my elderly neighbours tiguan out last week in snow and only front wheels ever turned.

Our agronomist had a amorak and part of reason he got rid of it was how poor it was off road.

Do we need pickups? 15 years ago most farmers had daihatsu fourtraks and isuzu troopers. Before that Subaru pickups.

How many farmers need a 30k pickup/posing machine?

I've a 13 year old fiesta van. Cost £1200

Vivaro is renowned for injectors welding themselves into the head and needing a new head as an example, isn't the Trafic the exact same beast?
Buy new and replace when warranty expires or buy used on the understanding a big bill is very possible. Just the same as pickups.
I have a Navara and a Vivaro, repairs on the Vivaro are equal to purchase price. Navara hasn't broken yet

It was until last September. At that point the Vauxhall Vivaro switched to being a rebadged Peugeot Expert / Citroen Dispatch.

Renault gave the Trafic a facelift and switched from the 1.6 turbo/ TT to a Nissan / Renault 2L variable geometry turbo from the Qashqai and X-Trail, and not too dissimilar to the engine on the Navara. @Cowabunga will keep me right.

On a different tack, a 'chippy' mate has just bought a Transit 'Custom Trail', which comes with a Quaife LSD as standard! (FWD).

Perhaps this is the nirvana for the pick up as we know it! Unless the electric ones can cut the mustard and attract new customers

I did read somewhere that the next generation Navara was going to be a collaboration between the alliance partners with Mitsubishi taking a lead role in its development, think it was due sometime between 2022 and 2025. Hopefully the plan will be to keep the Spanish plant open until the new generation is out. The "new" Navara that's being launched now is nothing but a heavy face-lift, and probably the last face-lift for the current platform as its now just over 6 years old.

If it comes to fruition it could be a good tool, there is no doubt the Navara is one of the most refined pickups, and the L200 super select 4x4 system one of the best drive trains, coupled to a Renault engine it could form the basis of a very good pickup.

Similar list as with all modern vehicles, gearboxes and engines mostly. Vivaro is renowned for injectors welding themselves into the head and needing a new head as an example, isn't the Trafic the exact same beast?

Just moved on a '66 plate Trafic LWB (Rated to carry more weight than a LWB Sprinter or Iveco.) at 148k miles, all it had had was diesel, tyres, screenwash. oil, filters, brake pads and front discs. Averaged 38 mpg without trying.

Replace with similar

Renaults are unreal how easy they are on fuel. Know someone with a opel van. He says it's a Renault engine. Extremely easy on fuel. Same lad has a Toyota land cruiser that physically is smaller bur 12 mpg worse on similar runs nó matter how easy you drive it.

My Navara, 80 mile journey was the last one from Shropshire to Gwynedd over the Berwyn mountains. No trailer but about 250kg in the bed. Regularly get mid 30’s on a run and I don't hang about.

And the readout is pretty accurate compared to pump calculations
