The NI/ROI Protocol

Frosty wants Britain to be “global and outward looking” and striking new global deals. At the same time he wants to unilaterally unpick and break the deals he makes when Britain spots something they don’t particularly like arising from those deals. The world has seen now, just how reliable Britain is as a partner to do a deal with. Not looking good I must say. Not good at all.

Well, if UK government representative can convince Scranton Joe, or indeed the powerful Irish American apparatus, that it can unilaterally welch on international law, on matters pertaining to the island of Ireland, then I’m a Dutchman.
What British government are up to now, in fiddling with the protocol, and going to US for a jolly, is nothing more than a smoke screen to try keep the Ulster Unionists quiet. The protocol is there now in international law, and both sides just need to operate it properly and of course sensibly. Bit like the Good Friday agreement itself. DUP bitched and screamed and moaned and whined, but in the end when they calculated they had convinced their back woods men of their integrity, they slid back to the table.

Well I unloaded my annual March pen of yearling limmys out of the shed last week. Very nice lift in price I have to say. PS: They were in my shed last week. Today they are in NI👍. Fair dues to Simon and Leo for keeping that bit of a border open.
