I do find it interesting that the DUP fail to see the prevailing winds, what happens when no isn't an acceptable answer anymore? Or more pertinently, what happens after no has been established as an unacceptable stance?

Seems pretty much everybody except a few gammon and rapidly declining number of unionist drum bangers plus Jamie Bryson are pretty happy with the protocol.


In fairness there are issues that need to be ironed out, anyone will tell you that. But to approach change unilaterally to appease an ideology rather than logic to get few votes in Westminster was not the way to do it. But don't believe anyone expected anything else, when you get FG agreeing with SF there is something wrong

Perhaps if the EU had listened to those who wanted change then the UK wouldnt have had to go down this route, even the great tony Blair says it needs changing to ensure peace continues.

same goes for the UK, Boris was repeatable told that the NIP had problems and was not the correct solution. but he did it anyway so he could tell all the soft minded Brexiters that "he got brexit done" when he hadn't

While the calibar of people like Lis Truss are out there as a negotiator the bungling will continue. Her incompetence is stunning. Look at the Prof take on her recent endeavours in relation to NIP

Prof Boyle, emeritus professor of public international law at the University of Edinburgh, said he was “aghast” at her comments.

He told the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee on Wednesday: “She was defending this on the basis of the international law principle of necessity.

“Well, I hope somebody has a word with her and tells her not to say that, because necessity as an international law is a defence to a breach of international law. So it’s only relevant if you’re already breaking international law.

“So the Foreign Secretary is virtually saying, ‘oh, yes, we’re breaking international law but it’s alright,
