Good man Bob! Blame frog and Jerry and even the Belgians for Brexit.😂
Try the usual old Brexiteer notion, that the Dutch are really British by nature, and if the Brits want to harm themselves, they too would be happy to follow suit🤭.
Not alone have the Dutch taken merciless advantage of Brexit, by taking a huge amount of financial services work from London, but they now turn their noses up at British pigs heads😂😂😂.
Oh, wait a minute, the Dutch have a big pork industry! What’s bad for British pigs heads, is good for Dutch pigs heads. Nothing personal you understand! Just business.

A lot of German goods come out through Rotterdam ( The Rhine and all that). Maybe somebody at least is being sensible but I would not be sure. It may be a distinction between RORO and driven trucks. I ordered some machine parts for a German product and they were here from Rhineland within a week, including internal postage from the UK forwarder.

The meat export/import debacle may yet impact on your beef exports to the UK if people continue to play games. Be careful what you wish for.

But, but, but, we know with decades how to export meat and dairy and so forth to third countries. USA, Japan, China, etc. Compliance and paperwork, IT systems etc, have to be right down to the last syllable. ROI meat industry is ready fir third country complications.
I work in engineering myself. 40% of trade is EU. No problem there. Frictionless trade. It’s a doddle. 35% is to USA. Each consignment has a raft of paperwork, covering everything from tariff codes, weight declarations for every single individual part on invoices, multiple copies of everything, special packaging and documentation to specify compliance, height to weight restrictions on individual pallets, final pallet wrapped in black (silage wrap type) plastic, etc, etc. Special designated area within packing department for US bound products. Open to random inspection by customs throughout the year.
Now US stuff, is a pain ..... but Japan and China 😬😬. Unreal.
Finally once or twice a year a couple of pallets go to Brazil........ to be honest, just not worth the hassle. Usually ends up being delayed and held up for weeks in end. Wouldn’t bother doing it, but it’s for one of our European customers. They don’t want the complications, so have us ship direct.
I have spent a life time in this business, and I remember Europe before the single market / customs union. Why anybody would want to go back to that, us beyond all comprehension to me.?

Have they just become morons, because the fairytale has turned into a nightmare?
Or were they morons all along, who believed in fairytales?
Unfortunately we have all become accustomed to electing complete morons in all three parties, non of whom could ever be trusted to run a business, they make decisions that can ruin our lives & then we find in a few short years they reverse those decisions ,until that changes we are in deep trouble

Irish Sea Tunnel will solve customs problem!😂
How in the four corners of County f**k is this supposed to do anything but put money into the hands of whichever BJ friend has got the shovel contract?!

Do they think they can avoid a border in the Irish Sea by smuggling through a tunnel?
Spat my coffee!
Laughed out loud reading this 😂

The sad thing is Cameron's half hearted attempts to get some sort of sense of reforms to Europe were laughed under the table by the EU. Whilst none of us were great fans of yet another Eton prat an awful lot of people recognised that the EU had it's own agenda & voted accordingly at Brexit.
Who will turn out to be right eventually is any bodies guess.

Looking on TFF over the past five years, there are a hundred forecasts giving the EU anything from one to three years, before inevitable collapse. Brexit was to be the final straw. Germany would slap the others about, in a rush to make their own deal with UK to protect themselves, and to hell with the others.
What transpired of course, was solid cohesion between all 27 countries.
You don’t of course get the irony in your own outlook expecting EU to fall apart. UK united ...?????

A lot of DUP haters out their saying DUP got what they voted for. The DUP never voted for a border between NI and GB. They won a vote to take all of the UK out of the EU and were shafted. Its not the UK that wants a border, its the EU, so its their problem to sort. Whether they want it between NI and Republic or between them and the Republic is up to them but they have no right to enforce borders within the UK.
As for some previous texters who think protestants can live safely in a all Ireland are in cuckoo land. My friends and family have been blown to pieces and shot by the same organisation who are running our country.
There is no place for terrorists and murderers in government.
Stormont needs brought down immediately until the protestants stop being tramped over.
Sinn fein/ IRA does not want NI to work therefore Stormont can never work.
I won't be replying to replies as arguing goes nowhere, it won't bring back my murdered loved ones.

Brexit caused border with the Eu. That was one of the benifits of Brexit to the Uk (controll of the border).
Borris has said there is no border within the Uk. In your first paragraph you rightly say the uk voted out of the the Eu. but in your second paragraph you dont seem to accept the vote of the people in the NI.

The question posed in the referendum was "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?". Not shall only certain parts leave or stay.

Meanwhile Boris tells it how it’s going to be to the yanks. Important to keep on the good side of the Irishman in DC. Goes to show, that petition is going nowhere anytime soon.
