and yet off The Celtic nations Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, IoM, 1/3 of Ireland would see them self's as British,
what more of the "Irish" a DNA survey carried out ( I think) by UCD found that most "Irish" have Viking DNA , and none had DNA that matched the earliest settlers of Ireland

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😏😂😂😂 Dominic Cummins reveals that Boris didn’t know the real function or meaning of the customs union, until Frosty explained it to him, 10 months AFTER the withdrawal agreement was signed. 😂😂😂😃😃😂.
As @Danllan says, best keep voting for the self same Boris until something better comes along. 😑

How many times have the people of the ROI voted for people they thought were the least worst option, surely you don't expect others to be held to higher standards than yourselves, do you?

What Britishness? The Gael’s may have been ruled by the British, but never became British. Never.
What's 'Irishness' - that being the Southern part only, Republic thereof? Is it having a huge chip on one's shoulder, sponging and then crowing, placating fascist genocides, or what?

Or is it being generous and welcoming, entrepreneurial, hard workers, very creative, humanitarians, highly charitable and well-educated people?

I've seen all the above, and more both ways, and I can't say that any of it is exclusive to the ROI, or anywhere else. But I still think I know what you might regard as Irishness, and I'm pretty sure you have a fair idea what we mean by Britishness - and I don't mean either term in a pejorative sense. (y)

well who didn't see this happing

I wonder how many 100's of thousands of pounds was spend in the "feasible" study to be told what everyone all ready knew
Anyone who believed that was ever going to happen was dreaming.

i do find it ironic that if there was going to be some form of link between the two islands, then the dublin/holyhead is the more practical route

I expect the same was said about the chunnel years ago it was talked about many decades before it happened,
Linking the UK with the continent was a lot more important to the UK than linking the mainland to NI is.

It may happen in the future, but the idea of it happening at a time when the UK seems to be less than interested in ownership of NI seems dubious at best.

Just an empty promise from an empty vessel bought by empty heads.

the channel tunnel is about 80M deep at it lowest point, the NI/Scotland would need to be near 200M deep as your going thu the deep part of the irish sea. that alone make it alot hard to build, but not impossible.
