They will have to cut spending significantly to allow the BoE to slow up the printer press. The question is do they stick to standard politics for the last 20 years and focus on removing money from the working population to save the blue rinse vote. Or do they make the calculation that a lot of them are doing to be deed by the next election.

Well it is almost the center of Britain. They could put it on the riverside as well between the mart and the river.Would be home from home.
If you draw a line between Lands End and JOG, the middle is on the Isle of Man, where they conveniently already have government buildings. Win:win - convert the Palace of Westminster into flats for yuppies and reduce the national debt.

Admittedly I was more thinking Cape Wrath to Dover, whilst moving the centre of power away from those dangerous Europeans, whilst saving on refurbishing the old building, and creating jobs for lorry drivers and builders, whilst all at the same time allowing Newcastle to dupe players into joining them by showing pictures of Big Ben...

It used to be that you never knew what was in the budgets until the chancellors stood up in the house and made their speeches, now they leak lots of it and he even gives interviews about it beforehand. I preferred the old way.
Very much depends if they want something cynically to deflect from other bad news, it was telling most of these announcements of endless money being given away came just before the weekend papers following mounting covid figures, when in trouble tell another story!
Not so long ago they were demanding investigations & resignations for leaks beforehand.
