The positive news youtube thread

The last thing us peasants want is to listen to some bigshot farmer crapping on about how good they are.
Maybe by listening to your peers that have been successful, you can draw on some wisdom and experience to make changes for the better in your own business.
Some of the most powerful tools we have are communication and collaboration and in today's information age there is no excuse for not using them.
The other option is that you think theres no room for improvement, in which case you're doomed!!

Sorry, @delilah, for the violation but some things must be said.

Just caught up with some of the Harry's Farm videos, he's doing a good job of telling the public just what farming (his sort anyway) is all about. Fair play to him!
:)
Yes I like his vids, check out the one where he drives his Ferrari to the south of France and comes home with 16 bottles of champagne, price less. The fact that the car,s heater is not up to much, but who cares it,s a Ferrari.

Please stop calling my farm a “factory”.
Too often, I hear people refer to larger farms as a “factory farm”. When I hear this negative term, a little piece of my heart breaks for the hard-working farming families across this great nation.
We are the ones you don’t see—the behind the scenes. Our farming stories are built on experience that grew watered by amazing technology and science. We are the agricultural stories that are seldom told. The ones lost in a time before cell phones and Facebook. The memory of hard work and dedication passed down from generation to generation.
We are the definition of sustainable.
It’s important to understand, farming is hard no matter how many acres you tend. We should respect all farmers no matter their farming operations. It doesn’t matter if I raise 10 pigs or 10,0000 pigs—we care no matter our size. The truth is, farmers of all sizes share common interests, goals, and passions. We also share common struggles, lose, and worry.
I might not be the local farmer selling to the minority of people visiting local farmer's markets or your local restaurants but I am your local farmer. I shop at the same stores, our kids go to the same school and I am behind you in the same line.
My pigs feed the majority. That pork you bought in your local grocery store might have come from my farm or any other family farm in this country. We have the safest most environmental advanced food system in the world—we are the pioneers. I am proud to support them and you should be, too.
Our mission will always be the same to clothe and feed people and to do so ethically with environmental stewardship in mind. I do so with love and appreciation for the consumer, after all—I am a consumer myself.
Our farms might not all look the same on the outside but it's what’s on the inside that counts and on my farm it’s family.
For most farmers it’s family.
Love,
Your local NC pig farmer and her family.
