Being in a strong dairy farming area and also one with a lot of people with roll over money at our discussion group meeting last night it was mentioned that a 60 acre block of land had been sold for £14k+ an acre and had been strongly contested by several parties.
Another 18 acre block has just popped up for sale and is expected to yield similar money.
All the talk of brexit dosent seem to be dampening peoples enthusiasm for getting hold of more dirt !!!
Are other areas experiencing similar trends ?

No it’s different up here the independence vote slowed the appetite for marginal stock/grass farms and Brexit is having the same effect. As always what is selling is quality but being bought by the mega farmers or some actually people moving from your 14k+ area and getting double for there money here.

Location, location. location.

Even marginal land is making £4k+ on the Island with the best well north of £10k.
Neighbours will always try for it and for some reason, we Brits seem to value having our own patch of land to call our castle

Over Dumfries way not down with you. Bare land around 5 then some more depending on facilities houses. Would’ve loved this beauty.

This one not so much. G Barbour again I’ll guess.
