Completely agree on the 'standards' and this is what makes me upset in that this is what we NEED to bellow out is the standards that UK producers are the highest! Also the gas-milage is bonkers. Imagine the base cost in Poland and add all the middle-men mark-ups.

It means you, as a UK farmer, have access to markets across the EU.

It also means other farmers, across Europe, farming in other EU member states, have preferential access to the UK market.

You need to decide if the top statement outweighs the one below it.

Exactly this. The supermarkets will continue to buy on price because the consumer buys on price. Provenance is an expensive luxury to many.

The reality is that some imported goods are produced to certain standards comparable to ours because if the European farmer wants to sell to the big UK retailers, they adhere to their protocols. It's an uncomfortable truth.

?Poland is in the EU. This beef has been traded under EU rules because we are still in the transition period and still following their rules
