To purly try and justify themselves that is all.
which is best they spend on advertising or making up stupid new rules and enforcing them ?
one of the biggest complaints about RT is that the shopper doesn't know what it means so RT advertise to tell the shopper and get more complaints
I am no fan of RT and as far as I am concerned the whole thing would be better off scrapped but advertising is what they should have done from the start then RT may be worth the farmer having

They can advertise to their hearts content but it won't make a jot of difference to shoppers.

How much does a full page colour advert on the back of last week’s FW cost?

No wonder FW want to court RT custom

I think they're running scared. Just need to tell the public how they've been ripping off farmers for years. Oh, maybe not, a boycott wouldn't help anyone. A new organisation and new brand to compete with RT must be the way to provide a migration route. Now, what will be included in the new standards?

So shoppers take no notice of adverts
Lots of wasted money there then

The point is the "brand" is unable to command any premium for farmers. And its never going to because there is no trickle back to the producer who funds half of it at least, in fact the whole thing is designed not to reward farmers but to add extra costs and rules purely for access to market. Its pure spivvery

oh yes I agree that's the way it is but it didn't have to be like that.
would it also be right to blame the farmers that signed up first to FA when there was thirty bits of silver on offer ? after all if nobody had ever signed up there would be no such thing

Agreed, I signed up as we were promised a "premium" but they quickly reneged on that and instead we are where we are now, getting market price for a load of rubbish and zero premium whatsoever but RT will gladly tell you it's a "Premium Product" when in fact it's nothing more than a scam

:banghead: The aim from the start was to get all or at least almost all farms assured, how did you expect there could be a continued premium once those late adopters like us where finally forced in? I do blame the early adopters for getting suckered in at the start!

And our professional representatives at the NFU fell for it and encouraged members to join then joined the RT board to rake it in.
