The Relationship between NFU and Red Tractor – The Facts

I got an email from my sister earlier this week with that "myth buster" on it.

It was her response to me telling her we'd quit NFU because of Farm Assurance stupidity

My brother in law is a big noise with NFU 2 counties away.

What disturbs me is that he listens from the top down & try's to tell us further down that we should step in line & do as we are told. Because they know best !

This isn't the Army, it's a Farmer's Union, funded by farmers and it should be working for farmers, not creating hassle and unnecessary expense for farmers.

They claim not to own RT, but with NFU Scotland & UFU must own over half of it as previously mentioned.

Condescending strokers

Too much top down is not good. Need a bit more bottom up.
How does your “Big Noise” brother in law canvass member opinion and pass it back up?

NFU now in a major quandary. The top down stop being an individual whinger and fall in line with what you are told has been superceded by TFF and other SM. Unimaginable, real democracy in the NFU. It hasn't just sneaked up on them it's rained bucket loads of cr#p on them from a great height and as much as they would like to ignore it in the hope it goes away it WON'T! This is a major wake up call for the NFU right across the board and major changes are required ASAP. Start by for a change listening to farmers.

Here`s a story to show what a farce rt really is. OH and daughter shopping in Morrisons at Dalington today, both spot a bird (robin) flying about around the fresh produce, told a shop assistant `oh we know, has been in for a few days but we are not allowed to catch it`    When I was daft enough to be rt inspected,if a bird was seen flying about my corn store i would have been shut down instantly, probably needed lots of stupid questions answered about what i did about it. bird shitting on food in a shop :wtf:
Friend spotted one on an Ipswich Tesco a couple or yes ago ,staff were aware of it as it had crumbs at the bread section and water from the melting ice at the fresh fish department. He contacted environmental health there were not amused

Under RT rules they’d have 28 days to sort it out and provide documentary evidence.

I’m sure the French farmers would give them a hand with wildlife in their stores 😜

NFU (funded by farmers)Created RED TRACTOR.
Then they gave away control of the not for profit organisation
by the way ,not for profit means all profits are paid back into the company “RED TRACTOR “ and not the owners “FARMERS UNION”
RED TRACTOR (funded by farmers) then just seems to have went completely crazy with their rules and their thirst for more and more red tape and pointless paperwork not to mention doing the supermarket dirty work. I could go on and on But
WHAT CAN WE AS FARMERS DO ABOUT IT
We have to join the complete voluntary red tractor or our diaries won’t lift our milk
so what to do ???
I have stopped paying my Farmers Union Subscription until I see some kind of action, not talk from the farmers unions. One thing I have noticed the farmers union takes notice when you it costs THEM money .
