Only an idiot would start an invasion in mid winter in Ukraine end of Jan perhaps, the chinese would eat Russia alive far too many of them, even Putin isnt that bonkers, if he did and started to get his arse handed to him it would be interesting to see if the west would rescue him to stop china

Second front is China invading taiwan not russia attacking China. Russia troops will be highly trained in winter warfare. It was the winter abilities of Russian troops that knackered Hitler.

I cant see Putin doing much to help china get more powerful or vice versa.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Helping to expand china's influence in the Pacific stops them wanting to make inroads past Mongolia.

People need to understand that both putin and xi are driven by resource control and not colouring in a map. China wants the chips, russia wants control of gas and oil.

Yes the weather stopped Hitler, but it didn't stop the red army. Fighting Russians in the winter is like fighting Arabs in the desert.

A repeat of a recent Andre Rieu concert in Maasterick, Holland, was shown on Sky Arts last night.

It was held and first broadcast well before the possibility that Russian forces might soon appear near the Polish Border.

The huge audience consisted of about 80 Nationalities.

At the beginning of the concert, Andre asked - ‘’Is there anyone from England?’’ ‘’Yes‘’, was the reply. ‘’Welcome to Europe’’ said Andre. It was met with a huge laugh from the entire audience.

Towards the end of the concert, Andre said ‘’the English have left, and the Russians are coming’’. It was met with a muted response.

I got the distinct impression that while we know that the Europeans are desperately sorry that we have left the EU, they still regard us a their main ally or even their protector in the event of threatened invasion.
'We have crushed the British to the ground, they are on their knees and they will not rise for a very long time', Alexander Vladimirovich Yakovenko, ex-Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom.

What do you find comical about a leader who is extremely intelligent, very articulate and is prepared to stick up for his country?
You are really unaware of what he has been up to with his mates? Stripping a country with probably the worlds richest natural resources bare, while the bulk of his countrymen are on the brink of poverty him and his mates live like emperors of old
