The 7610 is and was a fair all rounder and a little flier as a 2wd . That's my one not the smartest example but every thing works and always starts . It is the most used tractor here.

Fordson major

Never had you down as having sadistic tendencies.....

Look at what its direct competitors were at the time....Nuffield universal 4, later 4/60, DB30d, later 900,950, MF 65

all of which were far superior in many ways

the major was just a cheap volume product, the escort of the tractor world you could say

i cant think of a single redeeming feature of a major which made it any better than any of the above mentioned tractors

Being something of a classic tractor enthusiast; and having grown up in the 1960's and reared at home on Dextas and Ford 3000s; but always envious of neighbours 35's and 135's I hope that I can perhaps offer a totally unbiased opinion by saying that the only real contender for the ultimate classic tractor has to be the Massey 135.
I probably agree with you. The 135 just felt more 'sorted' than it's contemporaries.

It may be noisy and lack a 1000RPM PTO but it's still the king.

Got to be the right 135 though....swept axle, round mudguards, but with a swinging drawbar instead of that abortion they had the cheek to call a pickup hitch

I think the 35x had the edge on pure "looks" though
