The vege-bubble is turning to vege-bust

Expensive to produce now ---but give it some time to develop & it may be different
Same with taste & texture ---it will take time to perfect

I agree ---it's not for me but that doesn't mean others wont like it

I'd try it in a taste test ---i might be surprised, just as i was when i tried 14 different steaks and found that the best by far was from a Holstein!
I would not be very surprised, if as our understanding of gut microbiome, and it's implications for health and mental wellbeing increases, we will find that there is a slow public health timebomb in the making. Just as we are starting to reap the public health issues with type 2 diabetes from the "fat causes heart attacks, eat carbs and UPF instead", I think we will have a similar problem with gut microbiome and ultra processed meat. Mind you the low fat has followed on from smoking, so unfortunately I am not optimistic we wont repeat again.

Let’s face it most people won’t eat their vegetables so rather than not letting them leave the table until they’ve eaten their broccoli we’ll turn it into a burger instead.
when my son first went for a meal with his girlfriends parents, she said to him after "you know you don't have to eat everything on your plate", well all I can say is, he does in this house, and I hate having to throw any food out.

It's not the plant movement that's an issue , it's the contagion , look how covid has morphed in to an economic disaster instead of a health issue
The opposite may also be true - impending collapse needed a convenient scapegoat?

Impending collapse of this overhyped plant-based movement needs "rampant inflation" and not good old common sense to be the cause -

otherwise all these "experts" just look stupid....
...and they think we're stupid, or else they wouldn't feed us this drivel and expect us to pass it on - and pressure each other into conformity and compliance, because that would be fascist

You damned well do. I hate waste too and my missus is terrible for it, she puts more on my plate than I can possibly eat and sometimes wonder if she does it on purpose.
It the good old days we used to serve mash by the scoop, 3 scoops was a bit greedy as 2 was plenty. My missus gives me what would be the equivalent of 10 scoops. WTF?
Strangest thing is she gives herself even more and always eats it. I'm fat, she isn't.
