You'd think that there would come a point at which the Russian seniors would realise that they are doing themselves so much harm in the long-term, that they would rein it in a bit. But seemingly not; there was already a hell of a lot of dislike for Russia in Ukraine before the war - now there are generations of pure hatred.

Pretty thick tbh, motivates ukraine to fight even harder and quite likey more inclined to just shoot russians trying to surrender.You'd think that there would come a point at which the Russian seniors would realise that they are doing themselves so much harm in the long-term, that they would rein it in a bit. All these atrocities carried out just increase the chances they will be killed
If they do Russia will be declared a "terrorist state" with all that entails.

A friend of mine said the same to me earlier today; yet it is hard to credit that with the eyes of the World on them they'd do that; but I know what you mean, there is that gut-feeling. On balance I don't think it probable, but the uneasiness of the situation just won't go away, it is possible...
