The war in Ukraine...

All fairly simple to explain and I'm no military expert.

Firstly glad to see your at least now calling it an invasion 👍

Putin like all dictators has basically yes men around him that obviously tell him what he wants to hear or get sacked or go to jail.

He probably really believed that all the money that had been spent on his army made it the best in the world, pity about the corruption but those mega yachts and that champagne lifestyle has to be paid for somehow 🤣

The time of year didn't matter as it was only going to last three days, apparently some Russian troops captured or killed around Kiev had their dress uniform with them.

America had poured resources into Afghanistan only to see some troops melt away, as has been said already the Ukranian army has stood and fought to the death which has changed minds in the West about helping them.

Zelensky stayed put when he was offered an easy way out despite facing death threats from Russia, so for me he has my utmost respect and if he was dodgy he'd have been long gone like the last ruler of Afghanistan did.

For American or NATO forces to go in, firstly they would have taken out air defence systems and some of these are based in Russia and Belarus, so starting WW3

Thought you'd be against that. ??

Putin calculated that the West would roll over as they were so vulnerable to gas shortages so after a month or two of harsh words all would go back to normal and Nordstream 2 would be approved.

The one thing Trump got spot on and other American presidents have been concerned about the security risk, Russia cutting of supplies to Germany & Europe.
Sounds good but I'm sorry I just don't buy it, things seemed very strange when he started the build up of troops & then the inevitable invasion, when I was told what I have written before things made a lot more sense, whether you believe what I believe or not is now really Immaterial as it is where we go from now that maters, America see this as their opportunity to give Putin a really bloody nose, my fear is that if Russia start to seriously lose against what they consider American power they will at some stage get desperate enough to do or use anything as Putin cannot lose this & survive!

Bloody hell! I laughed out loud at that. First, how desperate is Russia / Putin getting for this even to be a consideration? Second, if anyone thinks that the supremely paranoid North Korea / Kim will weaken its defences to the slightest degree by sending any real troops, he's an idiot - if they send any people, they'll be from labour camps and prisons.

And a lot of other things come to mind too; it's so stupid an idea as to be genuinely funny. :ROFLMAO:

And yet this is the country we are all supposed to be terrified that it has plans & is going to invade Europe & take on NATO, what a load of cobblers it's obvious Russia isn't capable of challenging NATO or a NATO country but it's very handy for America to pretend it is!!

Jake's video has some good clips from Russian TV and he also has some details of how "healthy" a defector that made it to South Korea was, best have your food first 😂

Also seems to be more talk of the long range rockets for HIMARS 👍

Very, very good piece on Mark Milley and the situation he found himself in as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff nearing the end of the would-be trump dictatorship, (for those who I have on ignore and might quote me, hitler got elected too).

For all of us who aren’t living in Ukraine.

If you don’t agree, what would you have done differently?
How many people have died in Ukraine this year.
I would have tried to avoid that.

If Putin had installed his puppet government with no fighting, how much do you think it would have affected the average Ukrainian, especially those outside of the Donbas region, where many seem to have already been fighting.

Yes, but how? Put yourself in Biden’s shoes and tell us what you would have done so much better.
Sorry I thought your question was, what would I do if I was in the Ukraine, and presumably had any power.
If I was Biden I don't think I'd spend that much money on a country that doesn't significantly change the threat level to the US. It seems the US was too late to do much about the invasion. Putting together a plan to ensure Putin doesn't expand beyond Ukraine would I think be a better use of money and weapons.
Plus he has enough problems in his own country at the moment as well as Pelosi poking China, and he's too bloody old to be in charge of a remote control never mind a country.
(spot the old Billy Connolly gag)

It appears the US has given Ukraine US air to ground anti radiation missiles which are in use already. Being fired from Ukrainian aircraft.

Speculation abounds, more credible that removing russian radars paves the way for ATACMS introduction, far less credible that Ukraine already has Western aircraft.

Either way it appears, sensibly, these missiles weren't announced - at least in words :sneaky:
