Question for the panel please.
we dont have it here and ive never welded on 3 phase , is it better nicer /smoother or something  ) more effective in some way to weld with?
because if i go to get another genny it could be a 3 phase one and 2 of our older welders have 415 volts option anyway ??. "

yeah, i (might )possibly get a another bigger welder as well which would need 3 phase ( i was aware of that side of it)
but i shouldve said to compare like with like for comparison of welding ease / quality reasons so on up to about 300 amps which is about as high as we can go with the single phase ... ?

A 3 phase welder with 1.2 wire turned down to say 200a is a million times nicer to use than a single phase 1mm running on its limit

I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was professionalism, more like a lot of practice, I’d say there’s far better welders on this forum than me!

It’s 3.5m in length, I’ll be honest I’ve not actually weighed it but it is quite heavy, not unmanageable though.
Been very happy with it, though I’ve only used it a few times as I’m usually on the combine but my dad’s been pleased with how it’s speeded the job up. I don’t think we would have managed without it last year!

Hi guys
As you may have seen on my ( Static Arc mig / stick welder ) thread i've just bought this welder mainly for doing small chassis and body work repairs on Son's Disco 2, anyway we've got a few welding jobs to do on the Disco one is a couple of patches to cut out and weld in, a patch to do on the rear wheel arch and some welding to do on the front inner wheel arches.
The welder came with a roll of 0.8mm wire and want to know is this size of wire good enough for welding a landy chassis and for welding the body work
Thanks
Graham
