A suggestion of @betweenthelines, probably long overdue for most of us, this thread seems like one with a real future to it... :rolleyes:

I'll start, something relatively minor, but irritating nonetheless: putting in some thunderbolts to hold a mini-sleeper to a wall so I can attach some rails to it, I used the same size masonry bit as the bolts. :banghead:

While instructing oldest boy how and what to do and having just said to always use a bit smaller than the intended bolts... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Fortunately after a lot of looking, I'd the next size up in store, so all was well in the end and I hardly swore at all, or looked a prat, much. :angelic:

I thought it had the drill bit size to use stamped on the head of the bolts with those things?

I remember pointing it out to my father after he drilled a bunch of holes too big for the bolts he had :D
