Not today but about a week ago. cleaning off some steelwork for repainting, using a wire spider wheel on 4 inch angle grinder. Decided to play safe and wear leather gauntlets. Grinder hit a bit of metal and jumped out of my grasp before finding the top end of gauntlet and catching in the lining whereupon it travelled on down inside the glove shredding the lining and my wrist on the way, ending up as far as it could go with the switch totally inaccessible. Had to scrabble across the floor and pull plug from extension lead. Damage looked worse that it actually was thankfully and is healing nicely now. So much for Health and Safety, shall not bother next time!
Health & Safety approach would be having a grinder with a paddle/dead man type switch rather than a locking switch!

I didn’t feck it today but did fix it today, the microphone on my iPhone was getting a bit crackly (usual filings from the grinder etc) so in my wisdom decided to blow it out with the airline?. Anyway must have got a bit to close because I fecked it up altogether:banghead:.
Been having to use the headphones for a week which is a right pain in the ass, especially when you answer it and forget to plug them in?.

Bits landed today so had a major strip down, blood microphone would have to be the first bit they put in?

Even worked when I put it back together ?

earpiece speaker hasn’t worked on my 7 plus for about 2 years, keep thinking I’ll get the bits to fix it but haven’t got there yet 😂

Just read the other thread on here about birds pecking wrapped bales. Back came the memory from years ago of the stack of wrapped big round bales that I carefully built at the top of a field I rented, just below the big house. Caused no end of a stink - literally - when a few days later nothing would go down their drains. Turned out my stack was above the drain going down to their septic tank, properly sank it. I cleared the bales pronto and they organised a contractor to relay it. Until that was done, they couldn't use the bog, shower, bath, sink or anything. I didn't ask how they got by... To their credit, they never charged me.

mowed a field of second cut, knew it was borderline but much later and its no hope really no hope of it drying out with grass on it this time of year. So the mower done very little damage, possibly less than expected, was hopeful of the baler doing similar as normally wouldnt leave anymore damage than the mower. however we now bale with a mcahle 5500, not the roundpack. one bale and havent tracked a field as bad as that in 15 years, krone back on now for today but have had rain so not hopeful, the last 30 acres isnt going to be fun.

Nearly f____d up yesterday- finished baling the silage , parked up the big tractor and baler on the headland and popped home for tea in the Disco. Went back after an hour to rake up today's bit on the old B250, and as I got out of the Disco thought "There must be a forest fire somewhere, I can smell it on the wind." Went off and raked up the next bit but suddenly thought "That's funny, I can smell the fire where I've parked the tractors, but didn't notice it at all while I was raking in the open air." Further investigation revealed smouldering grass around a bearing on the round baler, so for want of a better plan, I drove it into the nearby water splash and let it cool off (It was on the lowest roller). It only seems to need a bearing swapped but if I hadn't gone back, the whole lot might have gone up
