A padlocked old steel tool box marked 'power tools', fitted with a couple of smoke grenades ( search for 'L64A1', £15 each, ish).

It might not stop them nicking stuff from your van or workshop, but it will ruin their day.

Tool thefts from vans is getting wrife across the country .
Theres a petition been going round to get setances increased not that it will do any good.
The market for used tools on car boot sales is huge .
A few sellers have been raided and numerous forces have found vast amounts in lock up storage and containers stacked to the roof.
Van security is pathetic when you can buy electronic equipment online to get through the alarms and immobilisers .
Im on the Makita page on FB and every day somebody is reporting their tools getting swiped when van sides are just peeled open

We now put carpet gripper on the on side lips of van door, gives the unprepared thief who's just using brute force a nasty surprise, doesn't stop the airbag / ratchet stap brigade tho.
