Thieving barstewards

Agreed, however if I come home to poisoned dogs I will be waiting for the visitors to arrive
I suspect if you come home to poisoned dogs they will have been and gone.

It’s a sick joke, we’re supposed to be a nation of animal lovers, if anyone else was to do this to dogs they’d be up for the high jump, yet these thieves with all that they do, it’s not just the theft of property and the authorities seem to do little other than shrug their shoulders and give you a reference number to claim on the insurance.

What sort of trackers are people using?
Have been following youtube videos by this tracking company.

Their trackers have gps and uhf radio trackers and their own independent power supply.
The video poster doesn't seem to rate the gps ones as the signal can be blocked if they're inside or even under a tree

They seem to have some success.
New video out at the moment with a stolen tractor in it.
The biggest problem they seem to have is getting the police out when they have found a vehicle.
Perhaps they go after the ones they don't film with hammers and crowbars.(y)

It's all well and good talking "big" talk, but when you have cctv of 5 masked men coming to your farm to steal WHO KNOW that farmers are pretty well tooled up and they still come then they are obviously prepared to do damage. We have had three bikes stolen in less than ten years, will never have one without a tracker now. Have no intention of seeing hubby either doing time or worse. Our neighbour has footage of 4 guys in masks armed with jemmies and hammers taking his two bikes. What would happen had he gone out to confront them. He would either have ended up being charged with murder/manslaughter or possibly had life changing injuries or worse, no bike etc is worth that. I know that the principle is all wrong but your principles don't save your life mostly.

You are completely right,at the end of the day it only stuff, it's just hard to sit back and let them have it, there is no answer but we are on our own I'm afraid the law is not on our side

Family have had their bike nicked twice, the last time it happened they caught 4 guys on CCTV; two were tasked with nicking the bike and two were positioned, one at either door of the farmhouse holding baseball bats in case anyone came out.

Amazingly the cops found DNA on clothing that was left behind, and actually identified one of the blokes (long time offender) but the CPS never brought charges due to a supposed lack of evidence. The cop dealing with the case came back to my lot and told them that they'd basically "been to his door and given him a stern talking to".

So. A pretty satisfactory conclusion really.

Presumably their insurance company persued the identified bloke for the money then?

Purden of proof is much lighter if you sue them for your loss. Get a small claims win, then send the bailiff round on Christmas week for the next six years.

Kettle out of upstairs window then..
I'm wary of people talking the talk, what they would do if they caught them, NV Equipment is not expensive, and you have no idea how many of the buggers there are, or where they are.

Just heard yesterday of a chap waking up with 3 masked men stud at side of his bed with claw hammers asking for his car keys. Then told him not to keep them upstairs in future then they wouldn't have to come up for them

better to leave the vehicles with the keys in them, ideally with trackers fitted.. perhaps see how they like it when the are woken a few days later, not be 3 but 300 masked farmers...!!
