Farming projects that may qualify for R&D tax relief include:
  • Fertilisers, pest and weed control;
  • Adapting to atmospheric conditions e.g. silage wrap;
  • Development of new machinery and components or adaption of existing e.g. robotics for a particular task;
  • Maximise yield through soil management and smart irrigation;
  • Processes to reduce waste and/or reuse waste products e.g. bio-fuels;
  • Feed supplements to improve livestock production and reproduction;
  • Use of sensors, drones and satellite technology; or,
  • Vertical farming or hydroponics.
If you are a limited company, get in touch and we can discuss what is possible.......

Latest note from our accountant was saying HMRC are looking in detail at all claims for R & D tax relief
I certainly hope so, as there is a great amount of work and time that goes in by our tax experts in complying 100% with the HMRC Tax Manual, and our Senior Consultant sits on the HMRC R&D Consultative Committe, so we know exactly what is required.
Making a R&D Tax Relief claim now could help with cash flow, HMRC has said that although they are seeing pressure on their operational resources, their priority is to clear 95% of claims within 28 days. They have introduced contingency plans to support this.

Didn’t you offer your services on here in the spring under a different heading?
Yes, many headings in fact ! We try to use fresh headings to make a boring subject a bit more interesting, we have been waiting and working on our marketing and advertising for the Forum, which is now in place,so hopefully you will see more fresh messages. The only real message is that "Farmers who are Ltd. companies should be finding out if they can claim R&D Tax Relief" - EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT MAKING A PROFIT !! many are now claiming,but too many are not and we want to help to change this.
