Hmmm.
This is my MP!
I'm sure Guy Opperman is a lovely man, kind to cats and old women, etc but.
As a Politician? Awful I'm afraid! This is a guy (pun not intended) who voted against the Ag reform bill in 2020 at the first vote. Let's not forget his constituency has an an enormous agricultural base with thousands of jobs involved here. Such was the outcry from his first vote, he sat on the fence and abstained on the second. What a hero!
He has aspirations as all career politicians do. Sadly it doesn't involve the good folk of Tynedale.

As an aside. I did have sympathy for him on the death of his twin children at birth and he wasn't allowed to visit his partner in hospital under Covid rules, whilst 10 Downing Street partied on until the small hours.

Edit: I didn't vote for the #### at the last election!

Like you I`m not happy with his performance.
Reason for bringing it up was I dispair when the deputy labour leader refers to the gov as "Tory Scum " on a public platform.
Corbonyt MP from just south of here said when elected, " I will not associate with Tories at Westminster, they are the enemy"
Fortunatly she was kicked out at the last election.

It wasn't on a public platform, it was some post party meeting at the Labour Party conference. And she said:-

“We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile … banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian … piece of scum,” she said at the event, before adding that she had “held back a little”

Not the choicest of words, but difficult to dispute atm. 🙁

I thought the real emphasis was on 'ETONIAN' although Rory Stewart seems a reasonable cove. She was certainly in fish wife mode that evening!!
