Thickness of new underground cable?

For cattle yards , ie lighting ( led) pressure washer etc possibly 3 hp motor on compressor, i can see little reason to go beyond 30 amp feed.
This would only require a 16 mm cable.
You would need to be careful not to overload any single phase though
I think your sparky is making work, and cost.

Very simple just put in what you actually need at this point in time however while the trench is open lay 3 extra trunking pipes with ropes inside. Then use single pipe for small expansion but you still have the option of a large expansion by installing a single phase per pipe.

63A at 400VAC three phase comes in at 70mm for 500m with 5% volt drop. the dno uses their own type of cable which cannot be bought, it is unique to them and it cannot be used because you cannot carry out testing to electrical standards on it. they can get away with a smaller size of cable for a given load.

Defo leave at least 2" duct in the trench for future-proofing, and pull two draw ropes, don't think cat-5 will be much cop over that distance tho, prob be looking at a fibre cable, which ain't that dear I don't think, would be handy for likes of security if ever needed

So there is no point doing what I'm suggesting? And placing ducts underground are the only option?
