My quad bike went walkies at midnight ish last night 5 masked and gloved men on CCTV cut through 2 locks on yard gates then as job was across one doorway climbed into upstairs granary to gain access to ground floor then cut another padlock off another inside door and manhandled the bike through a narrow door which only opens to 45 degrees then hot wired it and away with it we only heard it as they drove away

I was told Eastern Europe when mine went. Horrible feeling that someone barsteward has been poking about and that they've poked about before they came to nick it. you don't realise what else they've taken until you come to use it.Were do all these quads go?

Did not stop them taking ours. Found a couple of years later during a routine check at some garage/breakers, been stripped down for parts, but on 6th subsequent "owner" so they didnt do anything but wanted to charge us for storing it as it was still technically our vehicle. Left it as an insurance write off.
Haven't bothered replacing it. It would just go again.
A thin braided steel trigger wire looped over the tow ball, clamped so it tightens around the ball when pulled.
And that old 'promise knot' on the handlebars to remind you to take it off.
