Story in Irish Examiner on line about some lads who were in Kinsale last weekend, all were merry, one was drunk, fell onto mans window and broke it, ran away (as you would ) but went back quietly the next day with apology written on outside of envelope and money to pay for repair /new glass on inside of envelope

I used to hang all the bird feeders off an old, dead rotting apple tree, as part of my clearing up yesterday we pulled the whole thing out and removed it. Today I designed and installed a new bird feeder holder today, nothing fancy but built to suit birds as the priority. Within 20 mins of bringing the dogs, cats and myself inside out of the way there's more birds than ever. Its 10yds nearer the house and in full view of the kitchen window
I've got a couple of possible tweeks in mind but will wait and see how the wee birds get on with it for a couple of weeks. I'm trying to keep the rooks and crows from bullying the wee birds and scoffing all the fat balls and mealworms

The two Spitfires that had did the Dame Vera Lynne fly past at Dover flew over the farm on their way back to Biggin Hill. Not only made me smile but made the hair on the back of my head stand up. I feel so lucky to see these aircraft flying regularly .
