I shouldn't have laughed, but I simply could not help myself, as I arrived at a job this morning, not in the best of spirits, due to the unexpected very wet start.....my hapless employee was standing at the field entrance to see me in....at that point he promptly fell in the adjacent ditch! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:....as he rolled around in the bottom like a beached whale, engulfed by brambles and nettles, I almost split me sides laughing :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That brightened up a fairly miserable start:D

Mate, I would if I could, I hit the brakes and went for the phone, but he clocked me laughing and going for it, I was just not quick enough on the draw(n):(....I will try harder next time....(y)

I never even got a pic of him falling over crossing the road on Wednesday morning, didn't even see it:banghead:....that must have looked like Bluebird crashing :D....but he's still got the scars from that to prove it happened:blackeye:....

We sometimes don't realise that things we say can have lasting effects; I have a daughter, currently in Cylch Meithrin - Playschool - who is now convinced that she has a pet ant called Derek ...

This started a couple of months ago when, having been given a magnifying glass by my mother, she spent days examining every bit of ground with it. She soon noticed that everywhere she went there were ants and, obviously, one was always closer than others. Now, when she mentioned this to me, and with ants being pretty hard to tell apart (except red from black) my instant reply was 'Oh yes, that's Derek , he likes you, he's always following you around.'

Well, I'd forgotten this, but ants are common and if you look down they are nearly always there. This morning my girl was next to me by a shed door when she excitedly pulled my shirt and said 'Look, it's Derek, I thought I'd lost him!'

I just sat down as it's raining and watched the first episode of A Year On The Farm that I recorded this week.

Paul and Derek Kelly and family in Essex with their Kelly's Bronze turkey business.

I would commend it to anyone and I reckon it's a shame that it only got aired on More4.

An excellent programme showing just how driven and how much attention and personal effort Paul puts in to his business.

I found the link on the internet and there's 27 more days to watch this one:

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/a-year-on-the-farm

This week's low was a £126000 bad debt for a customer who buys chicks going pop with a max of a penny in the pound.

Next week the trailer says it's a Sussex dairy farm including TB testing
