things that make you smile

I once drove a vintage RR in a funeral cortege . The undertaker , riding in the hearse , accidentally and unknowingly pushed the "off " tap for petrol supply which was right by his knee . The bliddy hearse stopped right outside the cemetary gates and the mourners had to push it to the graveside . Not a right happy day for my B in L who was the carriage master.

Be a bit of a bugger getting to the pumps though when the mourners car are all in getting their Costa's in readiness for the cold blow when stood round the grave.

I always found it to be a lot more interesting doing a funeral than a wedding . I've seen quite a few fights at funerals where some uninvited guest turns up and creates havoc . Having said all that of course , that's only funny when it's somebody else ' s funeral . Some of the local catholic Irish always finished up with a fine old wake . But then , I well remember taking the officiating father home from a good old wedding . He was well under , and kept saying in a loud voice , "I've had a bloody good time back there" Happy days !
