things that make you smile

Busy in the workshop in the pouring rain last week I was listening to a programme on BBC Radio 4 about the re- introduction of the wild cat to Scotland. It was the usual BBC biased view of "nature" but one of the experts had a very sexy Scottish (?) accent. She purred like a cat, when asked if the wild cat population could be increased to what it was hundreds of years ago, she replied that would be p-u-rrfect. I imagined her curled up in a big armchair...
How I didn't cut my fingers off I don't know.

Waiting for his dinner, think @Landyman must have spoilt or starved him.

Made me smile, the last bit especially, who was he thinking of?:LOL:.

As I grow older I still have many unanswered questions! I never found out who let the dogs out or if Annie was OK & who was Annie's Daddy? I still don't know the way to get to Sesame Street or why Dora doesn't just use Google Maps & why we don't ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery". I don't know why "abbreviated" is such a long word or why Dyslexia does look like a word no one can spell, why lemon juice is made with artificial flavour yet Washing-up liquid is made with real lemons, why they sterilise the needle for lethal injections, why would I care about counting chickens as I buy my eggs from a Supermarket, why didn’t anyone notice that the Three R’s were spelt wrong & why do you have to "put your two Penneth in" but it's only a "Penny for your Thoughts" where Is that extra penny going to...why does The Alphabet Song & Twinkle Twinkle Little Star have the same tune... why did you just try to sing those two previous songs... why are steps outside and stairs inside, why do worms get up so early if they know birds are waiting already & what does it say about friendship when it is the second mouse that gets the cheese – Et Tu Mousy Et Tu... & just what is Victoria's secret? Finally, I will add, how can a person know a little bit about Something & an awful lot about Nothing.

We need some warm dry weather so we can get on and stop worrying about the above @Sussex Martin (y)
Nick...
@nick... I hate this weather as much as the next man (or person if you have a need for being pc) but I don't worry about things I have little or no control over. I certainly feel for those that are having a tough time as in the thread @GTB started but even those affected can do nothing about the weather they can only react to circumstances and try to plan their next move. The weather is out of our hands :(.
