Going in to a double pen where I left the gate open between last night.
One bull, 8 steers and a heifer (don't ask) in the pen.
This morning, gate pushed shut, one bull and 8 steers on one side.
One heifer on her own on the other.
Mathematical odds of this? Must buy a lottery ticket today.

Late last night after checking round and bottle feeding, I took a few minutes to just stand under the stars (it was cloudy) listening to the night sounds. I heard a male Tawny owl call and automatically called back. Within 20 seconds he few within a few feet of me to see who was mucking up his night. So beautiful. All the tiredness dropped away. I could not stop smiling.

Hubby got more than he bargained for recently in returning an owl call in the darkness of the garden, owl tried to land on his head
