things that make you smile

As an antidote to the grind your gears thread perhaps we need one to make us smile.
To kick off I had my daughter and grand daughter round to visit yesterday, dont see them as often as I would like as they live away, but having very little contact with her after my divorce due to her mother trying to cause trouble it just makes me smile from ear to ear when they come round, the littl'un is just over a yr old and is such a happy child and loves to crawl around and play. It makes all life's troubles seem so minor:cat:

Finally spotting the skylark singing his heart out in the sky

Watching my 2 year old Dad dancing

Seeing one of the 2 collies declaring UDI as soon as I'm out of sight and the OH wants her to work

Seeing the lambs have their funny five minutes at dusk

Getting caught with that gooey eyed look when Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz or Kelly Brook comes appears in the media

jumped straight in and across to the drivers seat and then flat out refused to move, sat on my lap all the way down the hill :)

Is that a similar look @JP1 describes:D

haha very much so. hasn't had a lot to do for most of his life, except herd the scraper tractor and quad bike around. so now i've got sheep hes either really good or awful, but he just does his own thing, not much I can do about it :)
love him to bits, pretty much a carbon copy of his dad except he can use all 4 legs and isn't a fan of work!

Having my 11 year old daughter cock a hoop when I tell her we are combining tomorrow and desperate to spend the day with me rather than with her mates..

She is incredibly useful and so eager to learn. Already has her place at Harper booked in her mind but I will never put any pressure to bear.

Sunny days, not too hot. Little things the kids ask like when one of them asked a bald man "why don't you have any hair "!

Putting the kids to bed, not to get rid of them but because I know they are safe there and always look comfy.

Seeing my own machines spreading nicely or going down the road if I'm sampling a field.

Any job done by anyone that has a real pride in it

Also get a smile when I close the gate on a nice set of parallel wheel marks done without GPS.

Thinking of my late Dad, except when I miss thinking of him on his birthday. That REALLY grinds my gears.

Sadly, I bet this thread won't run to as many pages as the gear grinders !!
