Being able to see what I'm doing outside at 4.30 (y)

It's not daylight, but the sun's still sending enough light over the horizon to not need a torch. I know the sky was clear tonight, but it was only a couple of weeks ago it was dark at 3.30.
Great isn't it? Plenty of light outside at 4.30 today, our security cameras were going into night mode at 3.30 not so long ago.

Brother just of to Sri Lanka for a months break, sister off to Aus and NZ for 10 week tour..... Honest, I am smiling for then all..........
I quite fancy the idea of Sri Lanka. Tug of war is quite a big sport out there, and I've got hundreds of Facebook 'friends' from there as a result. Their pictures always look like it's very pleasant.

My eldest daughter runs a backpackers hostel in Unawatuna which is near Galle, they've been hit hard by the terror attacks last year, nice to see people heading out there.

My eldest - still under ten - just came up to me and the Mrs and said:

'I'd really like you two to have another baby.'

We stopped dead, looked at each other and then, before we could reply, he burst out with:

'It's alright, you can do the mating when we're at school!*

Clearly a romantic in the making, the moral is: farm lads have to be taught that there is a slightly different vocabulary used when it's people rather than stock under discussion... :ROFLMAO:

*As if we hadn't thought of that already. :smug:

We received this in the post today , it definitely raised my opinions of the youngsters of today .

Been moving Blackie feeders onto fresh doing today. Bunched them up and pushed them too the hedge so they would find the gap and "escape" thus hopefully leaving their wanderlust satisfied.
While they were waiting to spot the gap 2 of the old Blackie ewes started having a scrap. They had 3 goes at one another then another one came trotting out of the flock and joined in, and another, and another. These 5 ewes are butting hell out of each other and this little Blackie lamb (28kg on a wet day) comes barrelling down the bank straight into the middle of them and breaks it up. Then stands there like some big fancy Blackie tup showing himself off! I was pissing myself laughing at him by this point. He looked straight at me then spun and set off bouncing back too the others. They can be a pain at times but they really made my day with that carry on!
