You'd probably be better letting your land out. Think I'm up to £450/ha for spring barley. That's before its combined and dried. No figure in there for rent.

Will he need sprayer training? Said including contracting costs. The contractor will provide a trained sprayer.

How long is a piece of string?
Acreage ,crops, machinery available, buy or contractor , buildings ,etc etc the senario's goes on and on.

roughly 10 acres.
planning on putting some bales up in our workshop to make some sort of silo to hold the crop.
Case 844XLN and John Deere 2030 but do have access to a John Deere 6930
We have the tractors. But would be willing to invest in some cheap tack.
Big Jobs will be contracted but might invest

Winter Feed Barley could yield from 7 - 10t/ha, work on somewhere in the middle
It’s worth around £130/t at the moment but usually it’s £10/t less than wheat
Variable costs could be between £400 - 500/ha
The straw maybe of good value to you ?
Think of assurance and selling the grain or are you using it yourself ?
You’ll need some fans to cool the grain or you’ll soon have a steaming pile of mush
Work on £300/ha for stubble to stubble contractor costs or £80/ha for combining, £12/ha for each spray pass, £45/ha for drilling
Anyhow that’s a start

Mostly grass equipment But our cousin who has the John Deere 6930 we can get tillage equipment For a small fee ( about £50 ) + diesel.

£18/20 per acre to get the crop direct drilled.
£5/acre everytime you get it sprayed. Roundup, Autumn herb, 2x fung - so four passes for WB.
I guess u have a fert spinner.
£30-£35 per acre to get it harvested - you haul.

Yep got a fert spinner got a clue for stuff like seed cost chemical cost fert cost. ?
