Well, if you do, don't do what an American company did!

When they finally had a product to sell, they got a famous expert to taste it in front of the TV cameras. He promptly turned his nose up at it, declaring that it was total crap...... "but might go for blending!".

I bet they loved that!

I've read your post and think it's really informative. I work for a company who is launching a magazine for farms looking to diversify. Would you be interested in writing us a piece?
Hi Sorry for the late reply. Sounds great I would love to write a piece for you. Feel free to inbox me so we can swap emails.

If you are thinking of setting up a distillery business I have recently published an article that you may find helpful.

Really informative - you mentioned the Excise Duty / Vat but not that this has to be paid over as soon as the spirit leaves the bonded premises - so cashflow is an absolute killer if you are selling trade and waiting 30 days for your money to come in (and most start-ups will have to pay up front for bottles etc).
