Perhaps he doesn’t like you . If you have ever tried to knock him down on price he won’t like it and will remember .
Probably ,when bidding against him at Caenby Corner as kid it was very interesting as you could see he had a price he would go to and no more. If you ask what price for something in the field he will have to go to the house and find out when he bought and for how much before he can give a price. No I meant no offense he’s definitely a character.

He is a character alright but I really get on well with him but I know many who don’t . I never argue on price and sometimes don’t even ask as I know I won’t find whatever it is cheaper . Places like his are getting few and far between .

Went to pick two wheels up one day , asked how much. £130 he says. Emma says each ? , looked at her shook his stick at her and grumbled can be “ mi lass “ , and laughed it was for the pair. , And if you want owt at a sale just tell him , he will buy it better
than you can most of time , and had a 3 m press that had been there a while 450£
Best one . Wanted an old hub cap for a Ransome iron wheeled subsoiler Yes boy got one , gives me key for gate , grumbled see you in an hour and half told us where they where in shed. 45 minutes moving stuff and as long puttingvstuff back In proper order
How much Lez. . £50 pound he says 😳. Oh . Put it back then 🤷‍♂️
then he goes onto say he bought them from farm sale in 1978 , gave a fiver for crate full .
