Just for the record I'm a leave voter
HmmmmmmWhat a loon,
Its not really about Brexit any more, its more about democracy, and whether voting means anything any more. Thats why its so heated - the side that lost won't accept it.
I agree with this, Brexit is now just a side show. the real issue facing us is how do we replace our complete governing system with something that works. I am not even sure that democracy has ever existed; we have a pretence of democracy but the important decisions are probably made somewhere else.
I haven't looked up the dictionary definition of government but it seems to me to consist of 2 elements; the day to day running of infrastructure required for the smooth running of a country and the control of the population. If the population took responsibility for their own actions all we would need is the running of the infrastructure. OK I know this is a gross simplification of the situation but until we personally accept a lot more of the responsibility than we currently do surely we just go on repeating the same mistakes.
I, as a remainer ,think a lot of the leave voters voted without realising the seriousness or the implications of the vote. They were largely fed false information ,like this “was going to be the easiest deal in history because we hold all the cards” “ we’ll have an extra 350 million a week that we could give the NHS “ etc.etc. Now the whole subject has been seriously debated for the last 3 years no one will have been able to avoid a Brexit debate or two. There should be a second referendum in the interest of democracy rather than despite democracy. Then whatever result is achieved no one would be able to seriously challenge it.
But it wasn’t a legally binding referendum and I believe that a lot of people voted without bothering to think it through. If it did not have huge problems it would all have been done and dusted by now. To say a second referendum is undemocratic just doesn’t hold water,it is even more democratic. If people think they are now going to be “living the dream” they are going to be in for a very rude awakening.
Three months is obviously too short a time ,but if a government demonstrates it is unable to govern then yes, a general election should be called.By your reasoning it would be 'even more democratic' to have a General Election every three months, wouldn't it?
Oh my memory must be playing havoc. You entirely ignore the facts that it isn't done and dusted because we have had a remainer PM, a remainer Chancellor and a remainer 'Chief Negotiator'* along with a mainly remainer Parliament all doing their best to make it not work for three years.

*The utterly discredited 'independent and impartial' Civil Servant Olly Robbins, who has spent the last three decades openly advocating a federal EU...
And nor will the next referendum be legally binding unless the law is changed in the meantime and such a move would really up the ante. When a democratically elected parliament invoked article 50 the stage was set to carry it through until the remainers started throwing all sorts of spanner’s in the works ably assisted by traitors within the ruling party. But it wasn’t a legally binding referendum and I believe that a lot of people voted without bothering to think it through. Starting with party jumpers. We should hang an MP everyday until its sorted
Oh my memory must be playing havoc.
I thought it was David Davis, a lifelong Brexiteer , who was initially put in charge of “ the easiest negotiation in History”.
This pledge by Liam Fox must surely have persuaded many to vote for Brexit, and it can now be seen as big a whopper as, £350 million a week for the NHS.
We are plunging into an economic crisis which is going to ruin many peoples lives, and the only winners will, be Bankers and ultimately Jeremy Corbyn and his cronies.
