This NFU 'produced to our standards' malarkey

In addition to two supermarket lobbyists, the commission has two members linked to the Legatum Institute. Shanker Singham and Lockwood Smith.
You had better hope that the farming reps on there have balls of steel.

Shanker Singham (from Wikipedia).
Singham is a vocal advocate of Britain leaving the European single market and customs union; he advocates unilaterally slashing some of our tariffs to let in cheaper exports (a move which would destroy the UK's small farmers); and proposes the setting up a giant free-trade zone of “like-minded nations” including Singapore, Switzerland and the US.

The commission will exist for 6 months. It wont take 6 days for the outcome to become apparent:

"Howdy Mr Tesco, this is the Lone Star ranch. We can supply you with enough beef for all of your stores, produced to the standards set by your trade commission. It will take 3 weeks to get to you, will be the best beef you have tasted. £3/kg/DW. Have a good day."
