No..,they are raw data but you have to read and understand how that data is reached and the parameters that the data is restricted to. The conclusions that are usually tagged on give a very good insight.
The modelling shows what may happen if certain things are well…”modelled”…like no covid vaccine roll out, or very low up take…or a more transmissible virus….
Its Hogmanay, I have better things to do. I wish you and everyone else a Happy New Year, let’s hope next year regains some normality whatever our individual thoughts on covid.
Hogmanay. Off Carlisle or The Toon?

Do you have some proof of that?
ONS figures show that apparently.

The NHS are now talking up flu again as so few people are getting put into hospital for covid so now need something else to add to the mix to say they are overrun with patients so need to stop everything but covid treatment/ need another lockdown etc.

Post them up then, then there is no dispute.

For the average person getting their info from the MSM the data can be simplified to not exactly show a true picture .
On the modelling we have only been given nightmarish scenarios this has scarred the living daylights out of many including the very young , elderly , vulnerable etc.
Happy New Year to everyone also , we certainly need more positivity back .

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) positivity decreased to 2.9% in week 49, with the highest positivity in the under 5-year olds at 8.7%. Rhinovirus positivity remained stable at 11.4% in week 49. Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) positivity continued to increase from 9.6% in week 48 to 10.5% in week 49. Mortality data showing deaths from influenza separately to pneumonia in 2020 will be available once data for 2020 has been finalised in the summer of 2021. As such, this information is considered exempt under Section 22(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, whereby information is exempt from release if there is a view to publish the information in the future. Furthermore, as a central government department and producer of official statistics, we need to have the freedom to be able to determine our own publication timetables. This is to allow us to deal with the necessary preparation, administration and context of publications. It would be unreasonable to consider disclosure when to do so would undermine our functions.
This exemption is subject to a public interest test. We recognise the desirability of information being freely available and this is considered by ONS when publication schedules are set in accordance with the Code of Practice for Statistics. The need for timely data must be balanced against the practicalities of applying statistical skill and judgement to produce the high quality, assured data needed to inform decision-making. If this balance is incorrectly applied, then we run the risk of decisions being based on inaccurate data which is arguably not in the public interest. This will have an impact on public trust in official statistics in a time when accuracy of official statistics is more important to the public than ever before.

Work it out!

I wonder how the vaccine affects natural immunity? If it stops you from getting ill with it does it also stop your immune system from the challenge levels required to create lasting immunity?
Is there any risk of mass vaccination actually prolonging the epidemic?
