Thistles autumn cleanup

Got some thistles to moider, late in the year I know.

Four years ago we used Transfer mid Oct to try to tidy up some thistles in perm pasture. Much to my surprise it did a cracking job, no thistles since. The thistles I want to kill are mature but not seeded. Am I right in thinking spraying now will get them to translocate the chems deep into the roots over a period of weeks and therefore do a good job?

Is Transfer still available as it's got Dicamba in it and I'm thinking it's maybe been banned? Could I use a straight mecoprop and get a result? We have some in store hence the question. It's just 4 acres so not a big order for a chem supplier.

@ollie989898 this is prob right up your street?

Are they mature creeping thistles?

I'd be hesitant to be spraying them as it is very cool at night. I'm not sure your mecoprop will do much to them, it's something I used to use in mixture only, never alone.

A can of thistleX probably be your best bet in all honesty.

You can still get hold of products containing dicamba and MCPA etc.

We do have some Thistlex, I just wasn't sure it would work the same at this time of year, and my previous experience of Transfer (Mircam Plus) suggested that route. We used our last can of MCPA the other day.

Maybe useful ? but i'm no agronomist
