What is happening with these thistles?

How can I encourage my other thistles to look similarly sick?

Will be interesting to see if they survive or die off.

Apart from the have black fly? I have some similar and have seen it before. I take it you are talking about the bleaching? They still seem to come back.

That's right, there is a patch that are pretty off colour.

I read that bruising them in damp weather can damage them pretty well and lead to rust/fungal problems.

I'll read up on thistle bio control.

I have patches like that, I have often wondered what it was - albino thistles?

A topper would do a fairly good job. Judging by the photo, there's a bit of weed control required
