Thoughts on Bobcat's new L85 pivot steer loader

Now then. This week we are trying out Bobcat's new pivot steer loader, the L85. Be good to know if anyone has got any thoughts or questions on this new machine, especially if you are a Weidemann, Schaffer or JCB TM user, for example. Or, if you've got one already, it would be good to know how you've been getting on with it and what to look out for with it.
It certainly looks the part, but we'll find out more this week. So, if you've got any questions, just stick them in the thread and we'll see if we can answer them. The full review video will then follow in a few weeks time. Cheers.

Uk never been a "Loader" market - yet in mainland Europe they are everywhere in all sizes -- for a machine of that size and limited dump height it would be a tiny market in terms of volume sales - better with a centre pivot telescopic

Now then Wellytrack: At the moment, there are plans for another model, a smaller L75. Then possibly, Bobcat may do larger models, but I think it's a case of they are going to see how this one (the L85) goes first and whether there is a market for their pivot steer loaders.
As for sharing the loader with Massey Ferguson, again, I think it's a case of let's see how this first pivot steer machine goes first before any decisions are made to share it with Bobcat. They did loosely suggest that if all goes well with the L85 in the ag market, then potentially Massey might look after the ag machines in MF colours, while Bobcat concentrates on the construction/industrial market.

Morning its yourself. There is no telescoping version yet, but we've said to Bobcat that if it wants to make it properly in the ag market with this loader then it really wants a tele-boom option. That said, with the fixed boom that the L85 has got, it does just about lift over the side of a medium sized diet feeder. We managed to fill a Keenan 320 with it. But really, for that extra flexibility, especially for stacking, it does need a tele-boom. No mention of a toe tip bucket yet either.

You're right there Sparkplug, on mainland Europe they bloody love fixed boom pivot steer machines. And yes, for the UK and Irish ag market, it definitely wants a tele-boom option.
