Throaty Calf

We have a very strong BB bullcalf approx 8 weeks old and he has started grunting recently. He sounds like one of those Texely things. He's healthy otherwise, stretching when getting up and suckling okay.
Ideas?
Thanks

i know exactly what that will be ,we had one yesterday,it is a growth/abcess on the windpipe.
it needs a steroid the first day and then 5 days of penstrep or combiclav, that should cure it but if it relapses carry on a little longer than 5 days nextime.

Boggy.
Nothing to do with length of neck, so sorry @Northeastfarmer .
(but it is more common in short necked types)
I forget exactly what it is, something to do with muscles restricting the Larynx IIRC.
Treatment is like muleman says, a steroid, but my personal view is that I would doubt it is a growth/ abcess.
We have had them on occasions, in calves 6 -12 weeks old when they're thriving, just ensure that it is the throat, and the lungs are clear.
Had to do one twice once, but she's about 14 years old now and always has a good calf. It's something they grow out of.
(unless yours is something different!)

I've got a 3 month old BB X Lim calf with the same symptoms, it has a terrible husky cough but is growing OK. I had the vet who gave it some Metcalm and Draxin. After a week it wasn't any better so the vet gave/sold me some steroids and Betamox. This has improved things but he is still not right.
