A mostly cloudy start to the day in Scotland showery rain for northern and western areas, This becoming heaver as a cold front move south and east. Drier for the rest of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland with good spells of sunshine developing in the morning heavy spreading here in the afternoon, while England and Wales remain mostly dry with some hazy sunshine up to 14C/57F but getting colder in the north.

Friday

A Windy day with the winds coming from the arctic so northerly winds through Friday as high pressure continues to build over the Atlantic. Showers will start to move in from the north affecting much of Scotland and exposed coastal areas across the rest of the UK. These will be wintry in nature over higher ground failing as rain hail sleet or snow. The cold air will push southwards across the British Isles dragging the temperatures down to 6 to 8C ( the 40's) in Scotland and 9 to 11C/52F elsewhere, high Windchill will make feel close to freezing.

A cold, frosty and places snowy weekend more on this Friday.

Do not kid yourself min.
Having a look through my diaries this is the latest in 20 years that there has been snow at the top of my glen.
Still none though I did see a snowflake briefly.
Maybe tomorrow morning...
