They are serious already, lost a few yearlings, born and bred on mountain, never been a problem in the pastTick numbers are far higher this year with a warmer wetter winter, without controlled burning on the moorlands tick levels will be exploding, all these eco fools should be very careful what they wish for as they play & camp on moorland.
And crovect is a shower of shite as well!!Same here, our common is bad for ticks now and dip doesn't protect them for long. Seen them in a fortnight like yourself
Dysect is the best we've found for sheep for tick control & fliesAnd crovect is a shower of shite as well!!
You want dysect or equivalentAnd crovect is a shower of shite as well!!

Watch for joint ill! I would get it in the lambs at marking with the ticks on them(stress of marking must have given the nasties in the ticks a chance to take hold), taken to puting spot-on on them now and come marking time in a couple of weeks they’re clean and don’t see any joint ill after.Lambs covered in ticks when we were making the other day. 10 years ago you never saw a one on the north side of the farm.
I’ve assumed that the difference is in the oil carrier, it’s much thicker, Ive never been tempted to swap.Dysect fly & tick control for sheep contains 12.5g litre of alphacypermethrin & costs £103 for 5 litres, Dysect fly control for cattle contains 15g per litre of alphacypermethrin & costs £92 for 1 litre.
It might only be me but as the cattle one has a dose of 10ml we have always used the sheep one on cattle at a dose of 15ml as it would seem to me a simple farmer that it is roughly the same amount of alphacypermethrin per dose at a far cheaper price, but don't tell anyone.
They all got spot on when we marked them. Ewes as well. get done again at shearing beginning of July.Watch for joint ill! Yeah that’s what I used to do but imperative they are covered before they are marked now, don’t want any ticks near them before they’re marked. They all got spot on when we marked them. Ewes as well. get done again at shearing beginning of July.
Seems ok for us . We dose them when they go out to the hill and they're fine when they come back in.And crovect is a shower of shite as well!!
