Are we finally seeing an acceptance that Mr Stripey isn't the cuddly little innocent victim of the countryside that he's made out to be?
Seen a lot more hedgehogs in the last two yearsides alive and dead one. Even stopped to help one cross the road in the village.I have not seen a hedgehog for years, alive or splattered.
See plenty of badgers though.......
Exactly why i think I've seen alot more.Hedges are a dodo They dont breed fast enough, they dont move fast enough and the dont adapt quickly enough. Sadly they dont have much hope of a long term future at least not without a significant destocking of foxes and badgers.
St Patrick again??Despite this area being covered in grassland and hedges, I've never seen one alive or dead in my 39 years.
My dog has found five hedgehogs here whilst we've been out and about walking the fields at night, within the last few months, mind you there's not much spraying that goes on around here, not sure what affect sprays and slug pellets would have on hedgehogs,
Well yes as i suspectedHedgehogs eat slugs and snails. If they eat enough of them they ingest the poison which slowly kills them.
