Think they are struggling more with the ridiculous volume of traffic splattering them when they try to go anywhere than changes to agricultural land

I have not seen a hedgehog for years, alive or splattered.

See plenty of badgers though.......

Slug pellets scattered around like confetti by suburban gardeners who treat their gardens like a living room.

I haven't seen one this year despite doing all of the right things to attract them.

Seen a lot more hedgehogs in the last two yearsides alive and dead one. Even stopped to help one cross the road in the village.

My dog has found five hedgehogs here whilst we've been out and about walking the fields at night, within the last few months, mind you there's not much spraying that goes on around here, not sure what affect sprays and slug pellets would have on hedgehogs,

Hedges are a dodo They dont breed fast enough, they dont move fast enough and the dont adapt quickly enough. Sadly they dont have much hope of a long term future at least not without a significant destocking of foxes and badgers.

They bred here last year as I saw the babies. Have seen fresh droppings around this last week. The labrador also finds the droppings....and rolls in them....

I'm in the middle of the original badger cull area, we are just beginning to see hedgehogs again as the badger numbers have been dramatically reduced.
Also back are snakes and field mice.

Well we are full of them, at least the garden is full of their crap. Do not see any voles, ducklings, cygnets, thanks to the otters

One poor little blighter made news in Leominster recently, being used as a football by some brain addled yoofs. It got put down, sadly same can not be said for the football hero's.......

Hedgehogs eat slugs and snails. If they eat enough of them they ingest the poison which slowly kills them.

Well yes as i suspected

Common sense would have suggested hedgehog surveys be carried out in parallel to badger culls. But that may have shown something the anti-cull people wouldn’t like to see.

Since the stripeys vacated this area about four years ago we have seen more hedgehogs. This is the third year that we've had little ones in our garden and it's brilliant to be able to watch them on the cctv and hear them snuffling around the lawns in the middle of the night.
I've just had a look on the memory thingy for photos of this year's litter but my daughter tells me she's only taken them on her phone.
