Anyone know how much weight I could safely put on a 3m x 3m area with 9x3 joists at 500 centres??

Looking to increase pellet store by extending onto the floor above the current hopper

if you google joist capacity there are several downloadable tables which should give you the answer, 3 mtrs using 9 by 3 isnt a huge length so would think a fair bit of weight

I’d think it’d take a few tonne. What is on your joists 22mm chipboard flooring? Try TRADA there may be information on there

The joists are canadian maple
Came out of a prefab hospital built during 2nd WW
Really good quality straight grained timber

But I have no actual spec on the joists
