Time delay after roundup before drilling grass seed

Depends on the weeds present. If its only tiny volunteers then read the label- product normally specifies 24-48 hours.

Have put roundup in with pre-emergence herbicides before so applied it after drilling and rolling, done it in many crops, certainly wheat and maize.
It's a field that was cut then grazed so not to much trash it's just that the time of year moving on its central scotland by the way so santa is on his on his way !!!!
 
You generally don't want to be doing it in grass because of the likelihood of couch and other stuff escaping it.

You can get away with no roundup if you are certain the existing sward is not carrying a mix of nasty species and has a modest seed bank. In most other scenarios I would spray the ley off well ahead of time because of the risk of frit fly.

Spray it, wait at least 3 days (prefer a week) then apply slurry/muck. Plough or otherwise till after that. Leaving it dead or ploughed for a few weeks will encourage frit fly to find alternate homes.
