Is going to pit silage an option? Have you a beet pad or similar concrete area you could just make a heap on? Woven green sheet on the top and it won't matter how many times the little darlings run over it.

Mum had nice poppies in the garden and the local hoodrats thought it would be fun to keep sneaking in at night and bleeding them

a few small fishhooks, fishing line to a bell.. scared them away for a few days...

a few small fishhooks, thin copper wire, a decent mains unit (y)(y)(y)

then they cut the wire....

couple of old illegal leghold traps with a jaw taken off, buried amongst the poppies (y)(y)

then they took away the traps and threw them on the neighbour's roof :banghead:

A good hiding, by yours truly :censored::whistle:

Never to be seen again....and I only caught up with the one :)

You cant fight fire with fire . phycology is your weapon . But how you use it I don't know . Use the ring leader and pay him . like a protection racket type thing

You'll have droves of kids licking the bales:hungry:

I've had mine used as archery targets.

How about getting a couple of climbing frames put up somewhere, and ask them nicely, with an explanation of why not to climb on the bales, to use them instead.

Or stack them at least two high on their flats, might put off a few of them off if they can't get up as easy.

Do you have mains electric fence on your place...

Don't put up climbing frames or you will be liable when they fall and get injured or kill themselves.

Can you build a compound with good fencing round it?
We could but to be fair, the sooner the town takes another bite for building the better so I'm not too inclined to spend a lot on infrastructure at the moment.

Update...
The local CSO has just been on the phone to say they are going to put some regular patrols in our area for a few days. It usually has the effect of moving the problem somewhere else, so at least it's not us that will get the hassle for a while.

I was a little b... for poaching when I was young. Then I saw someone with a German shepherd. Thinking back, it was probably someone taking their pet for a walk, but I never went back! I knew I could out run a gamekeeper but wasn't so sure about the dog!

Rumour is also a great tool. "Police will be using this field for dog training, so watch yerselves!".
